Continuous Professional Development
Continuous Professional Development is a system which is widely used in a great many professions (vets, lawyers, accountants) and is a way to demonstrate that people are continuing to acquire new skills and develop new skills.
Stockmen UK will be setting up a CPD scheme for professional who manage and work on dairy farms in the UK. There is no other scheme in existence in the UK and we believe this is a world first and something you should be proud of.
A CPD programme allows members to demonstrate that they have the range of skills necessary to manage today’s dairy herds in an efficient and effective manner and then continue to develop and enhance those skills.
The idea is that members will have to achieve a number of CPD points each year to show they are committed to keeping up to date with new techniques and developments. These points can be achieved in a number of ways.
